Skiing in Liperi
In Liperi there are altogether 62 kilometers of skiing tracks maintained by the municipality.
All of the tracks are suitable for classic and skating styles. In total 15 kilometers of the tracks are illuminated. The illuminated tracks can be found in Liperi center, Viinijärvi, Leppälahti and Pärnävaara. All of the skiing tracks have signposts.

Maintenance with snowgroomers:
Ylämylly - Pärnävaara - Lykynlampi daily 15.12.–15.4.
All the other tracks approximately every third day 15.12.–31.3.
Mattisenlahti school and Salokylä school approximately every third day 1.2.–31.3.
Before the opening of the tracks made with natural snow, Pärnävaara offers an illuminated, specially made First Snow Track. For more information see https://parna.fi/.

Signposts
Along the skiing tracks there are signposts, warning signs and maps to guide skiers. On the maps the skiing tracks have been marked with colors according to the difficulty levels.

Welcome to skiing tracks
- Choose your route according to the weather and your fitness and skill levels.
- Be aware of others around you.
- On two-way tracks, stay on the right.
- Follow the instructions on signposts.
- The tracks are regularly maintained with snow groomers. You can follow the maintenance status online https://joensuu.fluentprogress.fi/outdoors
- On warm weather or after a snowfall, the track may be soft. At times the track can also be icy or there might be plant litter on the track.
- Along the tracks there are road crossings and a few walking transitions.
- Skiing with a dog is allowed on Aurinkolasit -track, Honkalampi-Jyrinkylä connecting track, Ylämyllyn peltolatu and Kiimasuon kierros and on the connecting track between them. The dog must be kept on a short leash and dog droppings must not be left on the track. Check out the etiquette for dog skiers before going on the track.
- Littering is strictly prohibited.
- Campfires are only allowed in the marked areas. There are seven shelters along the skiing tracks.
- Report any shortages you encounter on the track to the track management.
